Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

  • Your local area
Every month we will aim to hold a walk – either in person from the Abbotsford Convent, or in isolation. The walks intend to be a social event and a joint experience in connecting with your local environment.
Closer to events and activities, the walks will involve appearances from other Yarra Riverkeeper staff, including our Regeneration Officer and Litter Officer.
With current restrictions,  we are making this months Yarra Walks an iso activity
Our iso walks will involve three aspects:
Here is how you can get involved
  1. Choose your favourite walk within your 5km radius (it doesn’t have to be by a River or Creek). You can share your journey too! All you need to do is join the Yarra Riverkeeper’s Strava club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/yarrariverkeepers
  2. Let’s take some photos and engage in citizen science! iNaturalist is an invaluable tool to learn more about the many species that live in your local environment. By taking photos of any flora and fauna in your local area, you can share individual experiences and contribute to data collection on Melbourne’s biodiversity. You can join the iNaturalist Project here: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/yarra-walks-observations, and
  3. We can still be social..online! Join the facebook group Yarra Walks (https://www.facebook.com/groups/yarrawalks/) and post any questions that you might have about Yarra Riverkeepers’ activities, our volunteer program and anything else! It’s also a chance for you to share any information too.
Let’s walk and explore your Yarra!

All are welcome!

The walk will be led by our Community Engagement Officer, Kristin. For any questions please email info@yarrariver.org.au
