Executive Officer

Likes: Time in nature, camping, hiking, travelling, music, food. All of the above and more!

Dislikes: The framing of nature as separate from humans – we are nature, too. What harms nature, harms us.

Favourite Animal in the Yarra Catchment: The tawny frogmouth – their ability to camouflage and melt into their surroundings is astonishing.

About

Meredith has a background in the not-for-profit sector. As the Operations Manager at the
People and Parks Foundation for almost a decade, Meredith coordinated a diverse range
of projects delivering community health and environmental conservation outcomes.

She is motivated to deliver social, community and environmental benefits, and is
passionate about respecting and valuing nature, which of course means caring for nature.

Meredith has worked in many sectors here in Australia, as well as overseas – in Japan and
Scotland. She has had experience working in government, commercial and community
organisations, feeling the greatest satisfaction when working with passionate
communities advocating for positive environmental outcomes that benefit all. Meredith
is deeply committed to ensuring the best outcomes for the Yarra, Birrarung and its
tributaries.

When she’s not working, Meredith will invariably be found soaking up local nature along
her favourite Darebin Creek and Yarra, Birrarung walking trails. Or she may be found
further afield in treasured camping spots throughout Victoria, and beyond. Her only
prerequisite for the perfect campsite is to have a flowing, healthy water source nearby
