Board Director and Secretary

About

Arte has nearly 25 years experience in all levels of government, pursuing better outcomes for Victorians through informed and evidence-based policy decisions.

Her experience ranges from economic policy and multicultural affairs to environmental and climate change policy. She is passionate about all issues impacting the environment, especially waste and litter, and managing the impacts of climate change. These tricky policy issues require significant change in human behaviours and Arte believes that meaningfully engaging the community and learning from the Traditional Owners is core to any solutions.

A local Fitzroy North resident, Arte has initiated community action in many ways including founding the Waste Warriors 3068 facebook group. She is also a committee member of the Merricks Beach Committee of Management where she helps manage 5kms of coastal Crown land, dealing with issues such as beach litter and coastal erosion.

Arte holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree, a Masters of Public Management and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

“I feel deep respect for the Birrarung which provides life to our natural environment, and serenely snakes through Melbourne city, connecting people back to our irreplaceable nature.”
