Notice of Yarra Riverkeeper Annual General Meeting 2023

You are warmly invited to attend the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Yarra Riverkeeper Association Inc. (YRKA). This is a fabulous opportunity to connect with other members, elect Board members and hear about the Association’s activities and achievements over the past year.

This year’s theme will be The YRKA Story – Past, Present and Future. We are delighted to welcome Ian Penrose, Andrew Kelly and Charlotte Sterrett, our former Yarra Riverkeepers, to hear their reflections on YRKA’s journey from its humble beginnings in 2005 to the present day. Following our guest speakers, Janet Bolitho will talk about the next phase of the YRKA Story – future directions for the Association.

AGM Event Details:
Date: Tuesday 21 November 2023
Time: 5.00pm – 7.30pm AEDT
Venue: Alphington Bowls Club. 28 Parkview Road, Alphington

This year’s AGM will be conducted as an in-person event. For those who are unable to attend in person, a recording of the AGM will be made available on our website.

Board and Committee Member Nominations:
If you would like to nominate for the Yarra Riverkeeper Association Board or our Advocacy or Fundraising Committees, please contact either the Secretary, Arte Kousis arte.kousis@yarrariver.org.au or the Vice President Rachel Fensham, on 0498 135 466 for an informal discussion.

Nominations must be mailed/hand delivered to PO Box 76, Fairfield, 3078, or sent to arte.kousis@yarrariver.org.au with the title ‘YRKA Nomination’ using the Nomination form and should include a brief expression of interest outlining expertise. We encourage nominations in advance of the meeting, and they must be submitted to the Secretary by 5.00pm on Tuesday 14 November 2023.

If you are intending to vote at the AGM or nominate for a Board position, please ensure that your membership is current. You can confirm your membership status with the Secretary, Arte Kousis at arte.kousis@yarrariver.org.au, if unsure.
