Voting is now open to fund new and exciting volunteering projects for nature! The Volunteer Innovation Fund by the Victorian Government is an exciting opportunity to inspire ideas and fuel innovation by funding community-led projects that consider new ways of volunteering in and for the environment.
We are excited to announce that our proposed project, ‘Connect your Yarra’, has made it through to the public voting round.
Connect your Yarra is a digital platform that will:
- Connect the community with volunteer opportunities in the Yarra Catchment
- Provide free training and resources to volunteers
- Encourage citizen science through the Yarra Catchment Atlas
- Diversifying the volunteer workforce through greater network reach and training
Voting is now open and will close at 5pm on Thursday 12 August.
To vote you will need to be a Victorian Resident. When you vote, you will need to select 3 projects. This will let you support more than one of the great initiatives that have been submitted to this funding opportunity!
People under the age of 16 can vote too but will need to have guardian approval.
