A graduate member of Engineers Australia, Qian is one of our very passionate community engagement volunteers.

Holding a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering with Honours, Qian first came know about the YRKA through the organisation’s litter and polystyrene work and wanted to get involved in promoting good water stewardship and improving the health of the Yarra.

Originally from Guangdong Province China, Qian has refined her bilingual skills through a completed Diploma in Interpreting Mandarin- English from NAATI. She additionally has completed a wide range of certificates including Green Star Accreditation, Leadership and Management and Business.

Qian has worked and interned in disciplines ranging from marketing to flood modelling to energy demand for an incredibly diverse range of companies including PokitPal, Education International Cooperation, Deakin University and Fonterra. In the latter role, she helped contribute to energy saving and sustainable supply chain through the mapping of factory electricity and gas usage.  Currently, she is an intern at ACASE, working in marketing and event promotion for business reform, innovation and product developments that focus on Asia Pacific cross-cultural communication.

It is through her combined marketing skills, sustainability knowledge and love for the environment that Qian is a valued member of the YRKA team. In her spare time, Qian enjoys singing and taking photos of beautiful natural scenery.
